The Indian Society for Medical Statistics (ISMS), established in 1983 at Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh is a Society, registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It is a scientific body consisting of biostatisticians, medical teachers, researchers, demographers, public health professionals and scientists from other related disciplines. This society of scientists working in the medical field is the only society of its kind in the South East Asia region. Society provides a common platform for medical researchers, statisticians and computer specialists to interact and benefit mutually towards sharing the developments and applications of statistical techniques. Since its inception, the society has been organizing a conference every year in conjunction with its annual meeting at different universities and academic institutes in the country.
The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is a large infrastructure hospital with hundreds of permanent scientists, researchers, medical doctors, nurses, paramedics, PhD, under and post-graduate students. The RIMS is part of an Autonomous Institute under the Govt. of Jharkhand, Ranchi, Jharkhand, which includes 33 departments, which collectively have complementary expertise and equipment to cater for the emergency health needs of the population of Jharkhand and nearby state.
