Strengthening public health nutrition interventions across the State.
The State Centre of Excellence for Public Health Nutrition (SCoE-PHN) functions in close coordination with the State Government to strengthen public health nutrition interventions across the State. The Centre has a focused mandate on improving maternal nutrition, child nutrition, and the prevention and management of wasting and severe wasting.
The SCoE-PHN serves as a technical support and knowledge resource hub, providing evidence-based inputs for policy formulation, programme planning, implementation, and monitoring of nutrition-related initiatives. It supports State departments in aligning nutrition interventions with national guidelines and frameworks, with particular emphasis on maternal and child nutrition outcomes.
Through a combination of policy and advocacy support, capacity building, and promotion of innovation, the Centre collaborates with relevant government departments, development partners, academic institutions, and civil society organisations to address malnutrition in all its forms.
The SCoE-PHN promotes data-driven decision-making, context-specific strategies, and adoption of best practices in line with national priorities and global nutrition goals. Through technical assistance, training, and systematic knowledge dissemination, the Centre aims to strengthen institutional systems and enhance resilience, thereby enabling sustainable improvements in public health nutrition outcomes in the State.
