The Department of Hospital Administration is a newly established and pioneering department at RIMS, Ranchi, dedicated to advancing excellence in healthcare management education, training, and hospital operations.

About Us

  • Establishment: Initiated under GB Letter No. GB 50.6 dated 28.01.2021, the department began functioning in January 2024.
  • Significance: First in Jharkhand and Eastern India to introduce a comprehensive Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA) program, paving the way for healthcare management advancements in the region.

Academic Programs

  • Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA)
    • Duration: Two years (full-time).
    • Start: Academic session 2024-2025.
    • Seats: 10 students per year.

  • IGNOU Study Centre Programs
    • Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Healthcare Management (PGDHHM)
    • Certificate in Health Care Waste Management (CHCWM)
    • Bridge Program for Community Health for Nurses (BPCCHN)

    • Operates a 24x7 ICR to address complaints and operational challenges, with a dedicated helpline and Duty Officer management.

  • Human Resource and Resource Management
    • Rationalization of manpower, user charges, and space allocation within RIMS.

  • Registrar for Birth & Death
    • Streamlined birth and death certificate registration for faster service delivery.

  • IGNOU Program Study Centre:
    • Host programs like PGDHHM, CHCWM, and BPCCHN to enhance healthcare education in the region.

    • Providing 24x7 campus security through deputed personnel and Quick Reaction Teams (QRT).
    • Liaising with local law enforcement for maintaining campus safety.

  • Biomedical Waste Management (BMWM)
    • Overseeing the collection, treatment, and disposal of biomedical waste in compliance with BMW Rules, 2016.
    • Training healthcare staff in proper waste management practices.

  • Housekeeping and Sanitation
    • Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene across all hospital areas.

  • CCTV and Surveillance
